Crown Island

This turn of the century view of what was then called "Crown Island," in Lake Mohegan (now known as "the island") gives a good sense of what the lake would have looked like in the 1800s.

This 1900 postcard was sold at Horn and Hardhart, the "hot spot" on East Main Street, a general store... the only store, in town.
