Rock Hill Lodge

The "Rock Hill Lodge" was a fixture in the Mohegan area. It was constructed in the early 1800s on the property of Countess B.F. de Nemours. Some locals speculate it was a gift to the widow of a French officer who fought in the American Revolution. It became the Rock Hill Lodge, one of several local resort hotels, currently the Holland Sporting Club. Thanks to the efforts of local volunteers and the Town of Yorktown, the property is slated for preservation -- though some people are proposing this fine old building be razed.
